Surf Camp Siberut

Terms & Conditions

These terms are based on the Surf Camp Siberut booking conditions and apply to trip reservations, payments, transfers, travel documents, insurance, and guest responsibility.

Responsibility

  • Surf Camp is not responsible for injuries, damages, death, financial losses, costs, expenses, or travel delays.
  • We cannot accept responsibility for travel problems outside our control, including weather, natural disasters, disease, war, terrorism, or mechanical issues with cars, boats, planes, or ferry transport.
  • Guests are not allowed to use drugs, narcotics, weed, alcohol, or addictive medicine unless it is permitted by a doctor. Guests are responsible for any legal consequences with local authorities or police.
  • Guests release Surf Camp from claims or additional costs if Mentawai Fast or another boat operator cancels because of bad weather.
  • Surf Camp is not responsible for personal property lost in Padang or the Mentawai Islands.
  • Deposits are not refundable if a guest cancels the trip after payment.
  • Surf Camp is not responsible for accidents, and insurance is not provided by the camp.
  • Surf Camp is not responsible for personal taste preferences related to food or mineral water.
  • If the main travel plan changes after a reservation is made, payments are not refundable.
  • Guests are responsible for their own actions. If a guest breaks the law, the guest is responsible with the authorities or police.

Standard Included Transfers

  • One return transfer route between Padang airport, homestay, and fast boat harbour.
  • One return boat transfer between Siberut harbour and the island or surf camp.

Compulsory Travel Insurance

Travel health insurance is mandatory for all Surf Camp guests and should cover medical evacuation. Surfing can be risky, especially in remote areas, so every guest should be prepared for medical and evacuation costs.

We also recommend arranging travel insurance at the time of booking so delays, flight or boat cancellations, missed connections, natural disasters, and other travel disruptions can be covered by your insurer.

Deposit & Cancellation Policy

  • A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking.
  • Cancellation must be made at least 90 days before the arrival date via WhatsApp or email.
  • For cancellations made on time, the cancellation fee is 10%.
  • For late cancellations, all deposits are non-refundable.
  • No full or partial refunds are given for early departures caused by bad waves, bad weather, injuries, illness, disasters, or similar conditions.
  • No refunds are paid for reasons connected to unstable political situations, national or local issues, natural disasters, weather, disease, terrorism, or lost airline flights.

Payment

  • Final payment is due at least two weeks before arrival.
  • Final payment is not refundable.
  • The preferred payment method is Wise transfer. Bank transfer may also be accepted.
  • Any additional transfer fees must be paid in full by the customer.
  • Any form of payment means the guest accepts the terms and conditions on this site.

Boat Trips & Transfers

  • Surf Camp reserves the right to change transport, routes, schedules, or transfer plans at any time for safety, weather, or operational reasons.
  • Surf boat trips and transfers may be rescheduled or cancelled if conditions are dangerous, such as storms or bad weather.
  • If a boat trip is affected, we will try to reschedule before cancelling completely.
  • Surf boat trip packages include two boat rides per day: one surf spot in the northern playgrounds area and one nearby spot.
  • Departure times can vary depending on tides and daily conditions.
  • Guests with pre-booked boat packages get priority when boat demand is higher than availability.
  • Guests who want to join a boat trip should tell us at least one day in advance.
  • The minimum number for boat trips is 3 guests, or the monetary equivalent.
  • Surf spot choices depend on guest level, group conditions, weather, tide, and captain recommendations.

Documentation

When entering Indonesia, all passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the departure date. Some nationalities require a valid visa, so guests should check with their embassy well in advance. We recommend bringing two photocopies of your passport.

Travel Information

Surf Camp is not responsible for airline fees, baggage policies, late arrivals, non-arrival of surfboards, surfboard bags, or other luggage.
